2017 Missions Conference

We would like to welcome you to Broken Arrow Baptist Temple’s 2017 Missions Conference.  We desire all who attend to receive a blessing from the preaching, presentations, and fellowship.  But beyond these five days, our hearts need to be burdened for lost souls and our spiritual eyes opened to the potential harvest field all around us!

In John 4 we find a familiar account: the woman at the well.  Always concerned for the individual soul, Jesus will travel through Samaria for the specific purpose of meeting her.  While the disciples are searching for food, Jesus deals with the Samaritan woman’s relatives, religion, and relationships.  At the point of salvation, she returns to the city, compelling otherS to see and hear the Christ.

Now the disciples have returned to Jesus from the city as well, however still consumed with the physical meat.  Jesus has no care for food, His  desire is to do the work of the Father.  As He tries to draw their attention to the spiritual and away from the physical, we find this year’s theme verse:

Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh the harvest? behold I say unto you, Lift up your eyes and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest. John 4:35

We often consider ourselves different than Christ’s earliest disciples, somehow better.  We have Christ right beside us in our King James Bible, the Holy Spirit within our very being, and yet we are all too often consumed with the physical and lack a vision for the spiritual.  May this 2017 Missions Conference cause us to “lift up our eyes” to see the harvest of souls, and may we be truly willing to labor!
